Blackheath High School Lecture

Steve Drury, visited Blackheath High School on July 3rd 2017, he presented a lecture to the student’s on careers in the built environment, elaborating the need for more women to consider career’s in construction. The world of Construction being a male dominant industry, still anticipates and accommodates young ladies who wish to take a step to study the vast range of courses construction has to offer. The industry covers a whole range of different roles once a preferred course has been completed, including such roles as;

  • Design e.g. Architects
  • Structural Engineer
  • Surveying e.g. Quantity Surveyor
  • Building Surveyor
  • Management e.g. Construction Manager
  • Project Manager
  • Site Supervisor

The presentation formed part of the school’s annual Wollstonecraft lecture programme, which aims to provide students with insights into the world of work from a range of industry Inspirational speakers.
